Baby Talk

Early literacy is important, so we target literacy development by reading, gaming (pointing, naming and handling objects), art, and listening (even to baby talk so the child can develop healthy social skills)!

Expression

Music and art are amazing tools to promote social development and emotional capacities of young children. Children learn to sway with the music, dance to the beat, clap their hands to the rhythm, and sing lyrics to the tune. This complex learning helps young children develop intricate abilities for attending to what is going on around them. This being made known, we make musical instruments and art time a top priority in our class.

Brain Power

ACC utilizes exorcises relevant to the students age that will develop the student's memory skills and engage all five senses. Examples are:
-
"Joint Attention" - when a student points, we follow the little pointing finger and describe the object the student may spontaneously point to.
-
Playing games that involve hands such as patty cake, peekaboo, this little piggy, etc.
-
Communicating time transitions.
-
Recruiting "help" for clean-up times.
-
Matching tone tempo where suitable.
-
Remaining predictable and staying consistent.
-
Supervised play with messy materials (allowing exploration with objects of different textures).
-
Only allowing Montessori-Inspired playthings.

Language of Love

Emotional security is vital for our students! That's why our ACC staff members are assigned permeant classes to establish relational familiarity. Only our most animated teachers are assigned to this class so they can show plenty of love and demonstrate the healthy expression of emotions through sounds, facial expressions and gestures. The students will also begin to make friends with their classmates!
